  • Forward Deployed Engineer
  • Software & Data Engineer

I work with the people who own a problem and ship the software that solves it, from banking systems for banks in Oman and Qatar to a knowledge-graph pipeline for a PET chemical-recycling plant.

An all-round engineer with very strong engineering skills and an exceptionally high commitment to solving very difficult problems. He independently developed and deployed a first-of-its-kind pipeline that was instrumental in the positive EU evaluation of our research project.

Experience

From production banking systems to industrial data pipelines and simulation research, the throughline is turning complex systems into clean, usable data.

domain:
  1. ICT Developer

    Nov 2024 - Nov 2025
    Eindhoven University of Technology·Eindhoven, Netherlands

EU-funded AutoTwin project, industry client GR3N (PET chemical recycling)

    • Acted as the technical lead for GR3N, a PET chemical-recycling company, working directly with its owners to turn plant sensor data and process questions into requirements, data models, and working software.
    • Built a production Python pipeline that turns 3M+ readings from 218 plant sensors into event logs and a Neo4j knowledge graph of 1,566 material batches, with noise filtering and validation, in about 11 minutes end to end.
    • Built a process model of the plant from this data that revealed bottlenecks and material being sent back upstream for reprocessing, giving GR3N concrete points to optimize.
    • GR3N's process owner confirmed the inferred material flows matched real plant operations. Published as a first-author paper at ICPM 2025.
  2. Software Developer

    Aug 2022 - Jul 2023
    ProgressSoft Corporation·Remote
    • Delivered production banking systems end to end for international banks in Oman and Qatar, from requirements through design, testing, and release, and extended a third system with new features.
    • Owned security on those systems: JWT authentication, data encryption, and access control built to financial compliance requirements, with Liquibase migrations run against databases that stayed live.
    • Profiled latency with JProfiler and Grafana k6, then cut transaction time by about 30% with caching and database indexes.
  3. Associate Java Developer

    Jun 2020 - Aug 2022
    ProgressSoft Corporation·Amman, Jordan
    • Built backend features and REST APIs in Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate/JPA for a major bank in Qatar.
    • Cut latency by refactoring legacy modules and SQL queries, and covered transaction workflows with JUnit and Mockito tests.

Projects

Selected work where the goal was the same: bridge raw inputs and the people who need clean data, from peer-reviewed research to a shipped mobile app.

Personal project, built with assistance from Claude Code2026Featured

A Digital Twin for Business Processes

A research-grade engine that takes a business process from historical event logs to a live, predictive twin, built in three validated maturity levels: digital model (discovery, conformance, object-centric process mining), digital shadow (streaming sync, drift detection, prediction), and digital twin (what-if simulation, optimization, and a closed feedback loop). Validated end-to-end on the BPI Challenge 2017 loan-application log: 31.5k cases, 1.2M events.

  • Digital Model - process discovery, conformance & object-centric mining on 1.2M events
  • Digital Shadow - streaming sync, concept-drift detection & ML prediction (7.13 d MAE)
  • Digital Twin - calibrated what-if simulation, within 7% of real cycle time
  • Closed loop: observe, forecast, detect divergence, recommend from live state

Process Mining for Digital Twins (AutoTwin)

Two end-to-end systems built under the EU AutoTwin project that turn raw industrial time-series sensor data into event knowledge graphs, the foundation for building digital twins. Delivered one during my Master's thesis and a second as an ICT Developer at TU Eindhoven, and published the methodology as first author at ICPM 2025. Worked directly with GR3N, a PET chemical-recycling company, to turn 3M+ readings from 218 plant sensors into event logs and a knowledge graph of 1,566 material batches. The process model built from it revealed bottlenecks and material being sent back upstream for reprocessing, and GR3N's process owner confirmed the material flows matched real plant operations.

  • 2 systems delivered: Master's thesis, then ICT Developer at TU/e
  • Time-series into event knowledge graphs (Neo4j) for digital twins
  • First-author paper at ICPM 2025, Montevideo

End-to-End Banking Systems

Delivered production banking systems end to end for international banks in Oman and Qatar, from requirements through design, testing, and release, and extended a third system with new features. Owned security on those systems: JWT authentication, data encryption, and access control built to financial compliance requirements, with Liquibase migrations run against live databases. Profiled latency with JProfiler and Grafana k6, then cut transaction time by about 30% with caching and database indexes.

  • Systems shipped end to end for banks in Oman and Qatar, plus new features on a third
  • JWT authentication, data encryption, and access control built to financial compliance requirements
  • About 30% faster transactions: profiled with JProfiler and Grafana k6, fixed with caching and database indexes

Volunteering

Outside engineering, I take part in international non-formal education projects under the Erasmus+ framework, under the supervision of Halmat Faraidon of Copenhagen Youth Network. Each brings together 30 to 40 participants from six countries. I first joined as a participant representing Jordan, and later led a team.
